Un petit morceau in A minor

"OMFG!!! DYNAMICS!!"

date: July 19, 2007

WOOTAGE! OWNAGE! AWESOMEAGE!

The thing that divides a "good" song, a "well played" song and an "emotionally moving" song is dynamics and its use. My friend you have done an excellent job, and it is your use of dynamics that provokes the emotion that the other reviewers talk about, I know it seems so simple, but a light piano followed buy a forte staccato can make a world of difference.

Firstly I may sound a tad harsh as I am a sax player and an extreme Jamiroquai fan, sorry in advance.

Alto or soprano sax... upper octaves... coupled with Synth... I'm sorry man but it just don't work. You probably would of been better off dropping it down an octave and playing it on a lower alto octave or a mid - upper tenor.

Also, the melody rythems were off man, I think some more dynamics may fix that, I'm not sure.

A few missed notes >.<

Otherwise nice try mate.

No disrespect, seriously.

(P.S. didn't vote, i would of put a 1, but i like your other stuff too much to do that.)

Sophisticated Lady (My Take)

"For the lucky lady"

Awesome tone!

What type of tenor are you playing, it's such a warm but hollow sound, suits a romantic perfectly.

"Yea mediocre"

date: July 19, 2007

lol, you judge your own music well.

The rythem is way out in parts in the chorus, and you are skipping alot of notes, lol, and the bass is playing too high, bass line needs to be dropped an octave. Great idea though, I would love to hear it finished! AND LET THE DRUMS HAVE SOME FUN!

P.S. I think there is a couple of wrong notes here and there too! >.<

"VERY NICE!"

I feel as if I'm in a cafe' drinking a smooth and creamy long black...

You have some great musos playing with you, an awesome piece, loose the muddiness, and it's perfection.

P.S. Thanks for the cords, lol.

Take the A Train - Nyack Jazz

"Nice"

date: July 19, 2007

Very nice man

Some great soloing going on throughout the piece, they were a tad hard to hear at times, smothered by the lower horns, so maybe a little bit more balance, though that may just be the recording, and i think the harmony and bass line players need a little more conviction, they seem a bit bored with their parts at times.

Awesome chart and some quality playing, the crowd loved you and thats what matters!

A beautiful piece my friend.

I am a saxophonist myself, a mere amature though. I found your song amazingly uplifting in its solace, and like the first reviewer I adored the flute solo.

May I ask, how did u create this piece? I wasn't sure if it was just the file quality but it all sounded a tad synth so I'm guessing you used a program.

My regards to your loss, but I beg you to continue writing such amazing music.

Author's Response:

I use Sibelius 5 to write the music, then I use various soundfonts and VST's to perform the score. However, that violin you heard was not played by a computer.

Thanks for the appreciation,
Bosa
